A Fruitful Life

Proverbs 3:5-12

God has created us with a longing to know that our presence in this world counts. He has also designed us to find the fulfillment of that desire through His Son Jesus Christ.

Dependence on the Lord is central to an abundant life. Trusting Him with all of our heart means giving Him control over our families, finances, jobs, and everything else in our life. Today's passage emphasizes how essential trust is to a fruitful life: We are cautioned against being wise in our own eyes and warned not to lean on our own understanding. When faced with decisions, it is tempting to gather information and choose the answer we think is right. However, we can't know all the facts or predict with certainty how others will respond. Our heavenly Father, on the other hand, is omniscient. He ''reads'' the heart and perceives our every thought (I Chronicles 28:9). No aspect of life escapes His notice (Hebrews 4:13), and He cares about everyone That's why He alone is certain which decision will be best for the circumstances we face in our life.

The abundant life also involves acknowledging the Lord in all we do. Speaking about Him is just part of what it means to give Him recognition. As His children, we are to have a marked resemblance to our heavenly Father - in thoughts, attitudes, and actions. Our priorities are to reflect His, and our plans should fit with His purpose.

Life becomes fruitful as we surrender ourselves to God and carry out His will. By allowing His Spirit to live through us (Galatians 2:20), we will find our life characterized by significance and satisfaction.

The Cost of Running From God

Jonah 4:9-11

You would think a life - threatening sea storm and a few days in a fish's belly would shake some sense into a person yet that wasn't the case with Jonah. The final paragraphs of his story reveal a vengeful prophet who ostensibly obeyed the Lord but allowed his heart to remain on the run.

Jonah paid a financial price for running from God - his ticket to Tarshish (Jonah 1:3). Any Sunday school student can tell you the physical consequences he endured. But when those events were long past, Jonah still grappled with the Spiritual cost of his flight and his peace & joy were gone. In their place was bitterness so strong that he begged God for the relief that death would bring.

As believers, we can't disobey the Lord without paying a price. Certainly our Spiritual life weakens. The skill & abilities God has bestowed on us will atrophy from lack of use while we waste time fleeing. Our action could also have negative consequences in other areas, such as our family, health, finances, and relationship.

Perhaps you have a habit, a plan or a current course of action that you know defiles God's Will. Have you considered the cost? Though Satan may try to convince you otherwise, there are consequences for wrong doing. The Lord is Holy, Righteous, and allowing people to get away with sin is simply incompatible with those attributes. What's more, the price for following your own will is high. Just look at how miserable Jonah was because of the choices he made. The rewards for obeying God is much more pleasing. Final note: for me, I learned the hard way myself running from God is costly, we should look for encouragement, strength & from Jesus to obey even when it's difficult.

Work of The Believer

Romans 12:4-8

The world's definition of success differs greatly from God's. Take the role of a pastor, for example - it would be easy to accept expression of praise for church growth, as many people equate high attendance numbers with a minister's effectiveness. But the Lord desires that we obey Him with humility. Whether we draw a crowd or not success is measures by obedience. This looks different for each believer. Some have very visible jobs, so their efforts are public and obvious. Others serve in quiet, led noticeable ways.

The gifts God bestows upon His followers are tailored to each one's ordained assignments. The Holy Spirit reveals our calling, and we're to give our best effort. Of course, no matter what the task maybe, the result will be worthless unless the Father breathes life into it. In other words, we are entrusted with God appointed work. He assign the duty provides the skills, and causes growth. The Lord deserves all of the glory. We are designed to achieve His plan as mere vessels that God uses. We should be thankful for anything He accomplishes through us. And by giving Him all the credit, we need never feel defeated with disappointment. Rather in spite of how things maybe, we trust Him to achieve His good purpose.

Honor is misplaced unless it goes directly to the one who creates, sanctifies, and sustains. God created us for specific tasks to further His Kingdom. He wants to use our lives - and will allow us to watch His powerful hand at work. Listen for His leading, and praise Him for all He accomplishes. Glory be to God for the work of the believer.

What Is Truth

Definition of Truth ( Emeth):

Anything that doesn’t agree with the Bible is false, error, and deception. Bible teaches: Truth is consistent with the heart, mind, will, character, soul and glory being of God.

Failure To Build God’s Truth Into Your Life.

Start with ( Believe in an error ) – Many believers think we can fall away from grace, we read in Hebrew 6:4-6 the account of the peril of apostasy. Some think we can on our own interpret God’s Word without the aid of the Holy Spirit teaches us for inspiration of the Scriptures turning to second Peter chapter one verses 20, 21.

Some ( Develops Evil Habits & Emotional Bondages )-like lying, smoking, drinking, getting on drugs, gambling , unfaithful to others and God. I used to have a problem with tobacco for twenty-five years and it took over my life. I would say, my life totally focus on each bondage not just tobacco. Praise God He alone delivered me away from the bondages so far in my life learning the lessons but I’m still developing, learning, and growing what please the Lord.

Some people fail to build God’s Truth into their lives by way ( Hindering Spiritual Growth ) like lying, conflict, confusion and personality changes from good to evil. Sooner or later day by day God’s Truth in a believer lapses into hardening of the heart. All you need is to watch against becoming stumbling blocks as we read in Romans 14:13 and unfaithful to God. Malachi 2 weight in as well along with sins, impedes progress found in Hebrew 12. Therefore, worldly possession kept back the rich young man from discipleship and true relationship with God because of wealth , Scripture say, in Matthew 19:22.

Some people ( Destroy Their Own Testimony ) – by coming across the path being honest with yourself and others. Jesus said, “ Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you and how He has had mercy on you according to Scripture found Mark chapter 5. Now, First John chapter 5 verse 9 & 10 - We accept man’s testimony, but God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God . Anyone who believe in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart.

Finally, bring me into ( Poor Relationships- Self-Image )-

Let me see for example: Many governments around the world are divided between themselves. The Bible teaches us; a house divided against itself can’t stand. Likewise, seems our government is not trusting anyone. So how long is it take to amend or crack or a broken trust?. Maybe it will heal, or maybe not, maybe it will never amend - father/son, mother/daughter, bother/sister, and husband/wife, whole families in peril and poor continuing relationships & lack of motivation. As a child growing up I was always bullied in school my whole life. Now, as an adult starting out my journey always limiting by self or others doing it. Soon I saw myself that way having poor self-image. Then through time God change my perspective on poor self-image by surrendering all to Christ to able the man he wants me to become.

Building God’s Truth into your life isn’t easy to do daily. We fail sometimes it is a given but as follower of Christ, we have advocate which to work it will be Jesus first. Here is the plan of building God’s Truth into your life.

Recognize Truthfulness as a foundational life principle

Evaluate the Result of Lying by way of looking at the consequences.

Practicing Truthfulness lead to observing the consequences.

Accept the Bible as the ultimate guidebook start with a believe which some people don’t

[ Romans 8:28 ].

Be Honest With Yourself and God’s Truth when you fail to discover why? Some people feel a matter fear of rejection look at I John 4:18 which states - There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Asking God of course, to give you an increasing desire for Truthfulness through prayer.

Identify next, any areas of weakness and apply that to Scripture [ II Corinthians 12:9,10 ].

Fill Your Mind then, with the Word of God example: [ Psalms 26:2 – examine ; I Chronicle 28:9 – devoted ]. Last but not least, purpose in your heart to be Trustworthy, Reliable and Believable to the lord according to Scripture [Proverbs 23:23 ].

Single-Minded Focus

II Timothy 2:4&5

''No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life (II Tim 2:4)." The word for entangle, which also occurs in (II Peter 2:20), means to be so wrapped up in something that movement is hindered. This is the term the Greeks would have used to describe a rabbit ensnared in a thorn patch. Peter's letter admonished followers not to return to past sins, but Paul was emphasizing a different lesson: He was warning Timothy against allowing essential daily pursuitsupersede a commitment to Christ. Paul himself at times worked as a tent-maker while carrying on his ministry; however, he realized there was potential for an occupation to become all – consumed to the detriment of a person's spiritual life.

Growing & managing wealth providing for one's family, and taking advantage of leisure time are important activities. In fact, God encourages all of them. However, these blessing are not to become distractions that draw believers away from Church, regular prayer and bible study. Nor are we to compartmentalize our life into '' discipleship ministry '' an '' regular work & play ''. We are Christ's soldiers no matter where we are or what we are doing - there is no such thing as a part-time disciple, christian or warrior. It's important for believers in Christ not to draw artificial boundary lines between the secular and the sacred. Everything God gives - from vocation & wealth to leisure activities - is to be used for His Glory; by keeping our priorities straight and activities in check or balances, we can prevent hobbies/ interests from becoming a snare. Where is your focus at? on Christ?

Our Thoughts: Who's in Control

Colossians 3:1-3

Do you ever struggle with thoughts that you know you shouldn't have"? Perhaps you sometimes allow your mind to drift over into unhealthy thoughts; un-forgiveness, pride, lust, or anger - attitudes, feelings and emotions that you know are not good. How do you tend to respond when this happens? We live in a time and culture that continuously bombard our minds with information through radio and t.v broadcasts, movies, newspapers, and the internet. Sometimes the message is good but often it isn't. Truth is that our thinking affects us more than we may realize shaping us into who we are becoming - thoughts reap Actions, action reap Habits, habits reap Character

and our character reaps our Destiny.

The Apostle Paul urges the believers to ''Keep Seeking'' in other words, we need to habitually seek Christ and continually set our mind on things above. Scripture reassures us that we can control our thoughts by relying on God (Holy Spirit) - (II Corinthians 10:5). If we continually look to God for help with how we think, He will mold our hearts and swift our attention from materialistic, ungodly priorities to move whole-some, spiritual values (Philippians 4:8). The moment we place our trust in Jesus, we become brand-new people that is; the basics for our capacity to think correctly (that is - to think more like Christ) and therefore, make wise decisions in our lives according to the principles of Christ. This doesn't mean we will always think right thoughts but we now have an opportunity, responsibility, and accountability through the power of the Holy Spirit to steer our mind in the heavenly direction. We all want to experience joy & peace in difficult times to have a sense of security and confidence that the Heavenly Father love us. Yet we are often times held back by worries and other pressures.

I learned a valuable lesson by turning to Philippians 4:4-9 God’s Word therefore, we can govern our thoughts: By first Screen Them. Imagine there's grid protecting your mind, whatever you think about must first pass through it. If you have built your filter upon the Word of God - any unscriptural ideals that try to get through will set off a warning alarm. You can check each though by asking series of questions: *What's is source? *Where will it lead me? *Is this scripturally sound? *Is this going to build me up or tear me down? *Can I share this with someone else? *Does it make me feel guilty? *Does it fit who I am as a follower of Jesus?

Secondly, Select Them. God has given you the right and power to decide whether or not you will accept or reject a thought. Every time an opinion or teaching grabs at your mind you can either let it through or discard it. Since the idea itself may not be wrong or right, those same screening questions can help you know what to do next.

Thirdly, Cultivate Them. By accepting only Godly thoughts and rejecting evil ones is not enough? You need to dwell on the ideas that align with God's Word and His

Principles - start process of practicing them daily. Allow God to pour Himself into your life and Holy Spirit guidance & direction to reign in your mind. In doing so, you will see awesome changes take place in your life.

A Life of Becoming

II Corinthians 4:7-18

Probably my greatest obstacle to understanding God’s purpose for brokenness is this: Like me, most disciples think of believers as something we do. We pray. We read the Bible. We go to church. We sing hymns. We tithe. We worship. We do - do assume that's the disciple life. It's not!

Being a true disciple is about ''Becoming'' rather that ''Doing''. The life of faith that God designed involves receiving Jesus into our heart and allowing Him to change our habits, mindsets, beliefs, interests, and concerns, like conviction & commitment so we become more - more like Jesus.

This realization will change our perspective on the heartache we must endure. You see, when we recognize that the disciple life is about '' JESUS''. persistent work of '' Re-creation '' in us, then the role of brokenness will make more sense. It's the process the Lord uses to strip us of things that have become - an obstacle to our spiritual growth. He also use this tool to address issues we may have declared ''Off Limits'' to Him, such as unhealthy behaviors or relationships that we rationalize.

God doesn't want to be Lord of most of your life. He wants to be Lord of ''All'' of your life! So He zeroes in on areas of self-will and self-sufficiency to remove everything within us that relies on ''self''. He uses brokenness to remove those inclinations so, that we can live moment by moment, day by day, in full dependence on Jesus.

Open your heart and ask God to reveal any selfish strong holds. Let Him break any unhealthy behavior patterns in your life. He will!

God Bless

Discipline Determines Destiny

I Corinthians 9:23-27

The apostle Paul compares our life to a race and points out that self-discipline - or the lack of it - determines the outcome. What He's speaking about is not simply our place in heaven, which is secured by our faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. He also has in mind our obedience and service for the Lord here on earth In order to fulfill the Father's purposes for our life, we need to ''exercise self-control in all things'' (I Corinthians 9:25). Though we long to obey the Lord, we have flesh tendencies, which are bent toward sin. Therefore, we need to control our sinful thoughts, impulses, and actions by making our body our slave instead of letting fleshly desires rule us (I Corinthians 9:27).

Paul says to live with a goal in mind rather than float aimlessly through (I Corinthians 9:26).God has prepared good works for us to accomplish during our lifetime (Ephesians 2:10). As we live in obedience to the Lord, He guides & directs our path and empowers us through the Holy Spirit to accomplish His will.

Next, we must work toward God's goal for us. Wishing and hoping never accomplish anything if there is no action. And effort that's not directed at the right goal is like

''beating the air''. We may be working hard for our own purposes, but if they're not

God's goals, it's all wasted effort. Paul tells us to run to win (I Corinthians 9:24), but what is the prize? As we fulfill God's purpose, he does His sanctifying work in us and accomplishes His will through us. Then one day, when we finish our course and stand before Christ in heaven, we'll receive eternal rewards that never perish.

Training To See God

Proverbs 3:24-26

David was confident that the Lord was always right there with Him ( Psa 16:8 ) His psalms reveals that in surveying His life, He saw God's fingerprint all over it. Like David, we must train our spiritual eyes to notice evidence of the Heavenly Father's presence in our live life.

Seeing with spiritual eyes isn't a new - and - then kind of thing - it's a life style. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said, '' Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God '' ( Matt 5:8 ). Those who walk before the Lord with a clear conscience will take captive unholy thoughts, habits, attitudes, and words. They will cast out sin and live in righteousness. As a result, such believers or disciples have a spiritual clarity that sharpens their awareness of God's presence and involvement in their live.

I developed a habit years ago that has helped me to focus on Him. When I lie down and talk to the Lord before going to sleep, I try to recall the events of my day. What I'm really doing is looking for evidence of God's hand at work. Q? | How did He guide this decision and Answer this

Question? | Protect me in this situation and Help me in this relationship? Appreciating the Lord's handiwork a second time ( even when the initial experience may have difficult ) Etches the reality of His Love deeper in my heart.

The evidence of God's Great Power is all over your life, if only you will see it. Viewing the world with wide-open spiritual eyes changes one's perspective. Instead of saying, '' I can't, say, '' I can because the Lord always enables me.'' Live confident in the loving, omnipotent God, who dwells within you and me as children of God.

God Bless! Be sure to look for seeing God in your live this week and forever more to the end.

How to Handle the Bible

Psalms 1:1-3

The value we place on something determines how we treat it. For instance, you probably wouldn't give much thought to caring for an old shoe box. Yet if someone place $10,000 inside before handing you that same cardboard container, you'd likely rearrange your day to protect it against damage or theft.

Once we realize the worth of Scripture, we no longer read merely out of obligation. Instead we hunger for its revelation and life-changing power.

Here's how you can prioritize God's Word so that it impact your heart and behavior. First, turn to it daily with eager expectation for what the Lord will reveal. Second, upon the Word by thinking about what you've read and absorbing its meaning and implications. Third, study God's truth. There are a variety of ways to do this. For example, follow a specific word through the Old and New Testaments by using a concordance or search engine. Or study an entire book by dissecting one chapter at a time. Fourth, what the Lord says. Fifth, obey. In other words, take what you read and apply it to your life circumstances. Doing so will encourage others while strengthening you and sinking the lesson deep in your heart. The Bible may look like just another book. But it is living truth that can protect , guide, pierce and encourage. It holds the story of Christ's sacrifice and our salvation, so we can eventually dwell with the Lord in heaven. The way that we look to and depend on God's Word will reflect to others the value we place on it.

An Example of Humility

John 13:1-17

Sometimes we need a wake up call that opens our eyes so we can see who we truly are. And watching someone else do what we should have done can be a most effective eye-opener. When Jesus started washing the disciple's feet, they must have felt an instant sense of uneasiness, especially after their recent discussions about which of them was the greatest [Mark 9:34,35].

As we noted earlier, foot washing was the task of the lowest slave in the household. But since Jesus and His disciples were eating in a borrowed room, there was no slave posted at the door.

All the disciples considered this job beneath them, so everyone's feet remained filthy until Jesus, the King of King and Lord of Lords, humbled Himself to serve those who should have served Him.

After three years of teaching and modeling humility to His disciples, Jesus finally got their attention with a towel and a bowl.

I can imagine how the disciples felt, because I remember the time a friend came to my office, wanting to wash my feet. I immediately protested, but he dropped to his knees and proceeded to take off my socks and shoes and wash my feet. He did it as an act of humble service, but I felt humiliated because in the process, I saw something in me that I didn't like-ugly pride.

If we want to follow in Jesus' footsteps of humility, we must do an honest self-evaluation by asking the Lord to reveal any sinful attitudes hiding in our heart. The purpose is not to make us feel worthless but to give us a yearning to become more like Christ.

The Basis For Discernment

Hebrews 4:12,13

We read in Hebrews 4:12 and 13 – For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edge sward, it penetrates even to dividing soul, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Spiritual discernment is the ability to see life from God's perspective. It requires that we know how He thinks and acts. The Bible is His unchanging, infallible revelation of Himself. However, the Lord doesn't simply give us a list of facts about His character and ways. All throughout the pages of Scripture, He illustrates who He is and how He operates.

Although an ancient book, the Bible is in no way obsolete. Its stories may have taken place centuries ago, but its principle and application are still relevant, offering discernment about situations and guidance for decisions.

God's Word - which Ephesians 6:17 refers to as '' the sword of the Spirit '' is active and piercing, like a surgeon's scalpel. The words don't simply sit on the page; rather, they penetrate our heart and judge our thoughts and motives. This convicting quality is why some disciples avoid reading the Bible. They prefer to live on a surface level but never understand why they react to situations the way they do. If we don't want to keep making the same mistakes, it's essential that we become discerning about ourselves. The way to do that is by approaching the Word of God with an open spirit. Then God will bring to light our hidden motives and unrecognized sins.

Spiritual discernment involves seeing not just circumstances but also ourselves from God's perspective. Have you learned to embrace the piercing sword of Scripture, or have you avoided doing so because it makes you uncomfortable? Remember, whenever the Lord uses a surgical knife, His purpose is always to make us healthier.

Building Intimacy With God

Genesis 16:1-16 ; Genesis 17:1-8

Intimacy with God doesn't just happen. It requires determination and significant investment of time & effort. As we seek closeness with Him, we must learn......

Conflict Resolution

In human disputes, there is usually error on both sides. But if we find ourselves in conflict with God, then we know we are in the wrong - He is always right! When Abraham fathered a child by Hagar, there was great strife in his home. God kept His promise to make Abraham a father of many nations but didn't lift the multi-generational discord that resulted from his actions. No matter the circumstances, tension with God can be resolved by yielding our desires and seeking His viewpoint.

Trust

Intimacy grows only in an atmosphere of trust. As we understand God's character better, our confidence grows, and we are drawn closer to Him. Our part is to show ourselves trustworthy.

Risk Taking

The more we reveal who we are in Christ to those around us, the more we risk facing arguments, experiencing rejection, or being misunderstood. But God understands us fully and promises that we belong to Him forever (John 10:27-29).

Agreement

For us, as Disciples of Christ to maintain a close affinity with Him our schedule and plans must reflect that He is a priority. We are to be available for His use and open to His guidance & direction. God designed us for intimacy with Him. All that He requires is our presence & cooperation. What priority have you placed on building a deeper relationship with Him?

The Importance of Motive

I Samuel 17:20-30

Our culture is action-oriented. Generally, when we see a problem, we plunge ahead with a solution. But before taking action, it would be wise to examine our motives. Not every good deed is prompted by a good motive.

When David arrived at the scene of Israel's battle against the Philistines, he saw Goliath for the first time and heard the Philistine's insults and mockery of the Israelites. Then someone told him about the rewards King Saul had promised to the man who would kill Goliath - great riches, the king's daughter for a wife, and freedom from taxation.

Such a generous reward was certainly a great motivator, and it obviously piqued David's interest. However, what ultimately propelled him onto the battlefield was the desire to defend God's name:''Who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should taunt the armies of the living God?''[I Samuel17:26].

As maturing believers in Christ, we must examine our motives for desiring victory in any battle we face. Too often we are seeking a selfish end, such as release from our discomfort and a return to an easier way of life. But God is more interested in molding us into Christ-likeness than He is in keeping us comfortable.

Think about the last conflict you faced, or maybe the one you're experiencing right now. Are God's honor and your spiritual growth the focus of your desires? If not, then you are at odds with what He is trying to accomplish in your life But if His will is more important to you than your own agenda, you can be certain that He will use the battle for your good and His Glory.

Walking in the Light

Ephesians 5:1-17

If you've ever lost power at night, you know how disorienting it can be to try and find your way to a flashlight or candle. You think you're heading for a doorway but unexpectedly bump into a wall. This is what our life was like before we met the Light of the World. In fact, we didn't even know what real light was and become comfortable in the darkness because it kept us fromseeing how sinful we truly were.

An amazing transaction occurred when we finally believed the gospel, repented of our sins, and confessed Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We were rescued from the domain of darkness and transferred to the kingdom of light. And now Jesus Christ, the Light of the World, has come to dwell within us (Colossians 1:13; Ephesians 3:17). So how are Christ's followers supposed to live? God outlines three basic responsibilities that which is in Scripture:

Walk in love (Ephesians 5:1,2)

As the Savior sacrificially loved us, so we are to love others. If we are at odds with our brothers and sisters in Christ, we can't claim to be walking in Light (I John 1:7).

Abstain from sin (Ephesians 5:3-7)

Disciples aren't sinless, but they don't habitually practice deeds of darkness.

Learn what pleases God (Ephesians 5:8-17)

The fruit of Light is goodness, righteousness, and truth. These are displayed in our character, conversation, and conduct when we are living out our faith.

Let's make it our aim to move even closer to the light, letting Jesus expose and remove any areas of darkness so we can reflect His glory and goodness.

Overcome Obstacles As Opportunities

Psalms 27:14

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Developing, Learning, and Growing in order to see obstacles as opportunities by the way takes time. Recalling certain truth can help our perspective God is at work as barriers remain in place and our situation seem unchanged. God is orchestrating people and events to move his plan forward. He works silently, invisibly, and effectively.

God prepares the way. He has already decided in His mind which hindrances to remove and which to leave unaltered. For the obstacles that remain, The Lord will arranged a way around them or fit them into His Plan. What He has determined will be accomplished. God requires our cooperation. He wants us to be ready to face difficult situations, through His Word He communicates what we need to know and also equips us [Hebrews 13:20,21]. God is personally involved. He wants develop in us a greater sensitivity to His presence through Scripture, prayer and other believers. We can receive the assurance that the Lord is near. God gives clear instruction. He doesn’t bring confusion. Whether we receive His guidance & direction stages or all at once, He ask us to trust in Him rather than our own thinking [ Proverbs 3:5,6 ].

Facing challenges involves courage, patience, and faith. It takes courage to accept the presence of barriers, to move in step with God, and to do what He asks. Patience is required as we wait for Him to equip us and reveal His plan. Faith is necessary for us to trust God with the outcome and to focus on obeying Him. Thank God for bringing obstacles as opportunities and then we can overcome them with God guidance & direction.

Evaluate Your Commitment

I Corinthians 6:19,20

Do you not know that your bodies are temple of Holy Spirit , who is in you , whom you have receive from God? - and you are not your own: You were bought at a price. Therefore, Honor God with your bodies.

Question - Have you ever evaluated your level of commitment to God?

Many believers have entered the door of salvation and settle down into their pews, expecting nothing more. Christ wants us to make deliberate decision to

let Him be the Lord of our lives. What does that look like? - This requires, the surrender of all our ( rights and recognition ) that He’s the one who plots the course. Our responsibility is simple… FOLLOW.

However, our natural tendency is to limit the areas where we allow God access. The day you trusted Christ, Question – Did you keep the title deed for your life?... Have you drawn circle indicating, “This is the area in which I will serve Lord, but don’t ask me to go any farther?…" If so, you’ve failed to recognize deeds: house, job, family, relationships, and car. When Jesus granted you forgiveness from sin, He also purchased you for Himself. All that you are and have belongs to Him. It’s the height of pride to assume authority over that which no longer belongs to you. When the Lord challenges us to do task beyond ourself – determined boundaries, He is calling us to a higher level of commitment. No matter how dedicated we maybe at present, no one has yet ‘’arrived‘’. Each challenge is an opportunity to hand Christ full authority over every aspect of life. Therefore, you are only as committed as you are obedient to whatever; most importantly, God is asking of you at any given moment … If you’ve posted a ‘’No Trespassing Sign ‘’ anywhere in your life, now is time to take it down.

Mathematics of The Cross

Mathematics is a science that has four fundamental operation namely; Addition, Subtraction, Division, and Multiplication. In our passage, the cross is a reference not to the two pieces of wood that were use as instrument of death in Roman times but rather to the sufferings, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus according to the Scriptures. Now if we meditate on the Cross of Christ, we will see how God works through it, using the four operations of mathematics. In this Bible study let us notice - The Mathematics of the Cross!

The Cross Subtracts A Soul From Hell

Everyone of us was on his way to hell. We were by nature the children of pride and disobedience. God's wrath & judgment was on us all. Praise God, when we believe the Cross of Christ - His death, burial and resurrection, we were instantly subtracted from hellfire [John 5:24]. No works, religious ceremonies or rituals were involved in it but pure in the perfect once for all, and finished work of Jesus Christ upon the Cross [Romans 3:24]. Thus, we were subtracted eternally from hell's casualties [Romans 8:1]. Truly, it’s only through God's power. The preaching of the Cross - can mankind be able to flee the wrath of God and the punishment of hell. Thanks be to God for this subtraction!

The Cross Adds A Soul Into Heaven

Once a sinner fully trust in Jesus and His finished work at Calvary. He is added to the family of God [Galatians 3:26; 8:16] and he knows it. A sinner that is saved by the grace of God is also, added to the protection of heaven in view of the devil and those who serve him [Psalms 34:7]. So a believer is added to the heavenly dwellings promised by Jesus [John 14:2,3]. Praise God for this Blessed addition!

The Cross Divides A Soul From The World

When a person get converted to Christ, he is divided or separated from the world because he is a new creature before God[II Corinthians 5:17]. A saved man is not just reformed or improved for that is not enough in the sight of God. He must be truly, transformed and reborn spiritual! The Bible teaches that a born – again man is dead to the world but live in Christ. As far as God is concerned, the sinful body of flesh - disciple has already been crucified and dead but is resurrected to live in Christ[Gal 2:20]; [Col 3:3]; [Romans 6:1,2]. A believer should no longer live as a servant of sin but rather as a servant of God and His Righteousness! A real believer becomes divided from this present evil world that is ruled by Satan and his principalities. True believer in Christ are sealed, indwelt, filled and possessed by the Holy Spirit. Disciples is the temple and habitation of God through the Spirit. [II Cor 1:22; Eph 4:30; 2:22; II Cor 6:19,20 etc.]. God's Spirit must both be resident and president in Him. Thank God for this great division brought about by the Cross of Christ.

The Cross Multiplies A Soul Blessings

The Cross doesn't take away anything precious from man but to the contrary multiplies both spiritual and physical blessings. It multiplies God's love, grace, peace and inheritance that can neither be destroyed nor stolen [II Pe 1:2; I Pe 1:4]. The Cross multiplies opportunities to do well and be useful in the service of God and our mankind so that we bring Glory to His Name [I Cor 3:9; 10:31]. Brethren, we aren't to be ashamed of the service of God!

Conclusion

The marvelous Cross of Christ's believer can truly Glory in [Gal 6:14]. Friend, in truth we are all responsible for the death of Jesus to the cross our selfish and rebellious deeds sent Jesus to the cross – Jesus willingly surrendered Him life and died to pay the penalty for our sins. He took the punishment. We deserve now offers ever man, woman and child opportunity to have a relationship with Him and to gain eternal life and salvation.

The Messages We Send - Intent

We communicate to others not just through our words but also by our facial expressions, gestures, and postures like dress. So it's important to think about the messages we send both in our speech, actions, conduct, behavior, and dress. Therefore, we have to be careful what we say, how we say it, to say things carelessly, & indifferently, sometimes leaves lasting pain, hurt, and injury in some body’s life. So, our words are very power tools. They send message that is either positive or negative, helpful or hurtful, fruitful or destructive - depends on how we communicate them and how their interpreted. That said, we should consider whether we're making the most of every opportunity to build & encourage those around us. We can be tremendous instruments of God's Blessing to others if we closely monitor what we communicate furthermore, advancing in growth in God's Kingdom.

[ Ephesians 4:29 ] - Don't let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

All of us are products that many people talk about in our lives. Hitler terrorizes & destroyed Germany so much of Europe through his speeches and his deception, when said, ‘‘Tell a lie long enough people will believe it''. Other hand, Churchill was the opposite of Hitler; his words saved Britain in the II World War. '' When he a made a statement, we will fight them in the beaches, we will fight them in streets, we will never give-up, never, never, never'' - that simple message he gave one speech absolutely transformed the spirit & attitude of the English people.

Our sense of personal wholeness is greatly affected by how we interpret what others communicate to us.

Lord's primary work in us concerns our spirit - the innermost part of our being because it affects both [body & soul ].

Our emotional make-up includes three basic needs. God designed us to find fulfillment of these needs through a personal relationship with Him.

Belonging - [ Romans 8:14-16 ]

Paul discusses belonging to God like family, organization, Church etc.

Worthiness - [ Romans 5:6-8 ]

Paul discusses God's value / worthiness to us.

Competency - [ Ephesians 3:20 ]

Paul discusses our competency with/to God - believable, successful; you can achieve! God send the Holy Spirit to us; sense of competency to able us to be guided & directed.

Requires all three collectively working together just as in the case of our emotional make-up: sense of belonging, sense of worthiness, and sense of competency!

Each need - gives birth to three essential emotions:

Through our belonging to God, we feel Acceptance.

Through Christ's sacrifice on the cross, we feel Loved.

Through the Holy Spirit, we feel Secure.

To God, there is no such thing as an unimportant, unlovable person. That's why destructive words are never appropriate. They only lead to feelings of rejection or unworthiness. Through a relationship with

Jesus, people can find freedom from the negative messages, they've endured, and all six emotions - sense of belonging, sense of worthiness, sense of competency, we feel acceptance with God, we feel loved through Jesus, we feel secure through the indwelling Holy Spirit. Therefore, we need all six emotions working collectively together as one unit or body to function or operate in this world we live in according to the principles of God.

Finally, all human beings long to feel accepted, worthwhile, and competence - through a relationship with Jesus. People can understand they are worthy of love, competent through Holy Spirit, and secure in their relationship with God.

Is this what you're communicating to those around you? Talk about a makeup call! Now time for everyone to think & reflect! Mindful about your words, facial expressions, and actions, because these things can either build people up or tear them down. Each individual we meet is someone the Father loves.

What you say and do should communicate this Truth. In fact, God is Truth.

The Tactics of Temptation

Disciples sometimes think life will be free from temptation. But Ephesians 6:12 say, '' we wrestle not against flesh & blood, but against principalities, against powers..." We are up against an enemy that has tactics and battle plans. Disciples must not go up against an organized enemy in a completely disorganized manner. There are different kinds of temptations, and different ways to handle them.

In a battle there are two factors involved. These are power & strategy. Both are important. Disciple must utilize the power of the Holy Spirit. However, even with adequate power, victory is not necessarily assured. You must use the power in the right way at the right time.

For example: Let's imagine an admiral on a battleship with all kinds of power at his disposal. He is attacked by an airplane and gives an order: ''Okay, men throw over the depth charges.” He would be defeated! because depth charges don't do anything against airplanes. They are designed to destroy submarines. His defeat would not be due to a lack of power, but a failure in strategy.

The ultimate source of all evil is Satan. But that doesn't mean that the devil always attacks us personally. It would be like saying that Hitler was behind all German aggression in World War II. That statement is true, but it doesn't mean that Hitler always attacked each G.I. personally. Through his submarines and his German Panzer divisions Hitler came at us in various ways. The devil come sat us through three basic channels. In Scripture these are called: the devil, the world, and the flesh. We have a battle on our hands. We must face this evil triad every day.

We also want to know where we are vulnerable. In I Thessalonians 5:23 we read, "And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. '' The whole man involves the spirit, soul, and body. Any temptations you have will be in one of these areas.

As you study the Bible you'll find that a direct demonic attack will be in the area of the spirit, causing you to doubt. The world generally attacks you in the area of your soul. Why do you want more money or things money can buy? When you are attacked in the area of the body,

it will usually be coming from the old sin nature, the flesh.

OUR WARFARE

Devil attacks Spirit

World attacks Soul

Flesh attacks Body

It is crucial, when you are being tempted, to determine what kind of temptation it is. Each is handled differently.

THE DEVIL ATTACKS THE SPIRIT

Probably the easiest of the three to understand would be the devil. Scripture teaches that there is one personal supernatural spirit being known as the devil or Satan and there are many fallen angels known as the devil's angels, or demons.

Man was created to not only be aware of him self , but also to be aware of God! So let's call the spirit the ''God -consciousness.''. Man uniquely has a capacity for God. Some temptation is directed right at your relationship with God. When you are tempted to deny God's goodness, or to deny God's Word, or God's faithfulness, these are attacks right at your God-consciousness (spirit).

Read Luke 22:54-62. This is an example of temptation directed at Peter's relationship with God. Satan is attacking Peter's spirit or God-consciousness. How does one handle direct demonic attack upon the God-consciousness? James 4:7 says, ''Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you'' How does one resist the devil? There is no better way to resist the devil than the way Christ handled a satanic overture. Each time He used the same tactical maneuver. ''It is written. ''It is written. ''It is written.'' He hit him with the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. He threw Scripture in his teeth. That is the best way to resist the devil.

We are supposed to resist in the power of the Spirit, but using the word of God For instance, if Satan tries to tell a believer no salvation here with God, the best thing to do is have a passage that states categorically that all who believe in Christ have everlasting life. Throw a verse like John 5:24 in the enemy's face. Or if you are tempted to doubt God's goodness, throw the promises of God in the teeth of the devil.

Be effective handling this type of temptation you must know your Bible. That is why Scripture memorization is so important. David said, ''Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee'' (Psalms 119:11). The more you hide God's Word in your heart, the more you study and master it, the more you will be prepared to deal effectively with this type of temptation.

THE WORLD ATTACKS THE SOUL

The second channel through which the enemy can attack is the world. The kind of (World) we are talking about is the one mentioned in I John 2:15, Love not the world , neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.'' Or Romans12:2, '' Be not conformed to this world...'' This kind of world means: the world of unsaved men and the society, culture, and value systems that they have established. The most subtle kinds of temptation are from this channel - the world! Most of the time when you are tempted by the world, you are not tempted to do anything illegal or nasty: yet, it is devastating to your spiritual welfare.

For example: A young couple is very zealous for the Lord and then suddenly stops attending church. They purchased a new home and are now so busy landscaping it they have no time for God. They actually love the house more than they love God. That is sin and that is idolatry!

The most difficult type of temptation comes from the world.

The word soul as used in a specialized sense in contrast to the spirit means essentially, the self-consciousness. That capacity that you have to say, ''I '' You are aware of yourself in relationship to your environment. Many temptations are directed right at yourself-consciousness, because involved in that self-consciousness is this thing called pride or ego!

Read Genesis 13:1-18. This is an example of the world attacking the ego of Lot, who was concerned with personal gain.

How do I handle this type of temptation? What does the Bible say to do about it? Read in Matthew 6:19-34. Probably this type - the world attacking the soul - will be the most prominent over the period of your life span. This is particularly true in our materialistic society. Suppose as a woman you find yourself enamored with the latest fashions. It becomes an inordinate passion that's ever on your mind. Clothes! Clothes! Clothes! Or a fellow gets car fever. Cars! Cars! How do we handle it!

In John 2:15 we read, ''Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.'' If you begin to let your love for God grow cold, then the world will slip into the vacuum. So, if you find yourself loving the world inordinately, that is a symptom of a deeper problem. Don't fight the symptom; let the symptom warn you the problem, and your real problem is that something has happened to your love for God. Check out your devotional life. Get alone with Him and start really having a time with Him. Get that love back where it ought to be and the whole problem will disappear. Because if you love Him as you ought to love Him, you won't be loving this world. The more you love Him, the less important the things of this world will become to you. It is absolutely crucial in maintaining a successful disciple life to take time every day to communicate with Him - through personal Bible study and prayer. So when tempted with the world, check out your devotional life.

THE FLESH ATTACKS THE BODY

The final channel of temptation is the flesh. The kind of flesh we are talking about is the kind referred to in Galatians 5:17, ''For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh and these are contrary the one to the other: so that we can't do the things that we would. The flesh is my enemy. The flesh is also referred to as the ''old man'' in Romans 6 and 7 as '' the sin that is in me''; and in Romans 8 it is called the ''carnal man.'' This is referring to your old sin nature, that inborn selfishness and rebellion. You've got an enemy right on the inside, a traitor within the ranks of your own personality through which Satan can operate.

Between the spirit, soul, and body, the easiest to understand is the body. That is the material you: the meat, the bones, the eyeballs. Some temptations are directed right at the biological drives of the body - such as sex or eating. A believer or disciple is constantly tempted to misuse and misdirect these biological drives that God has given us.

Read II Samuel 11:1-4. This is an example where David's appetites of the body were under attack. The temptation of illicit sex is a big issue in our culture.

Look at II Timothy 2:22, ''Flee.... youthful lusts.'' or, I Corinthians 6:18, Flee fornication.'' That's the tactic to used: You are never told to fight but to flee! Joseph is a good example of this in Genesis 39.When Potiphar's wife tried to seduce him, did Joseph suggest they kneel by the couch and pray about it? No! He ran!

There are different ways to run - Dates at places with lots of lights and lots of people is one way of running. That is running from the situation. If one has an appetite for doughnuts, don't stand there looking at them; don't even drive close to the doughnut shop.

When tempted by the devil in the area of your God- consciousness, resist with the Word. When tempted by the world in the area of your ego, checkout your devotional love for God. That where the real problem lies. When tempted by the flesh, in the biological drives of the body, run, baby, run! Needless to say, all of these tactical maneuvers must be carried out by utilizing the power of the indwelling Spirit.

Dealing With Difficult People God's Way

Dealing with difficult people not only test our faith in God, but it also puts our witness on display. One Biblical figure who responded well to difficult people was David, who triumphed over many offensive characters to become King of Israel. When he was only a teenager, David encountered one of the most intimidating types of difficult people - ''The Bully''. Bullies can be found in the workplace, at home, in schools, and universities and they usually frighted us with their physical strength, authority, or some other advantage.

Goliath was a giant Philistine warrior who had terrorized the entire Israelite army with his size and his skill as a fighter. No one dare to meet this bully in combat, until David showed up. Before facing Goliath, David had to deal with a critic, his own brother Eliab, who said: ''I know how conceited you are and how wicked your heart is: you came down only to watch the battle.'' [ I Samuel 17:28 ]. David ignored this critic because what Eliab said was a lie. That's a good lesson for us…time for reflection. Then, turning his attention back to Goliath; David saw through the Giant's taunts. Even as a young shepherd, David understood what it meant to be a servant of God. ''All those here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord's and He will given all of you into our hands.'' [ I Samuel 17: 47 ].

While we should not respond to bullies by hitting them over the head with a rock; we should remember that our strength is not in ourselves, but in God who loves us.

This can give us confidence to endure when our own resources are low.

Time To Flee

Fighting a bully is not always the right course of action. Later, King Saul turned into a bully and chased David throughout the country, because Saul was jealous of him. David chose to flee. Saul was rightful appoint King, and David would not battle him. He told Saul: ''and may the Lord avenge the wrongs you have done to me, but my hand will not touch you, as the saying goes - from evildoers come evildoers comes evil deeds, so my hand will not touch you'' . [ I Samuel 24:12,13 ].

At times we must flee from a bully in the workplace, on the street, or in an abusive relationship. This is not cowardice. It's wise to retreat when we are unable to protect ourselves. Trusting God to exact justice takes great faith, which David had. He knew when to act himself, and when to flee and turn the matter over to the Lord.

Coping With The Angry

Later in David's life, the Amalekites had attacked the village of Ziklag, carrying off the wives and children of David's Army. Scripture says, David and his men wept until they had no strength left. Understandably the men were angry, but instead of being mad at the Amalekites, they blamed David: ''David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each was bitter in spirit because of his son and daughters.'' [ I Samuel 30:6 ]

Often people take their anger out on us. Sometimes we deserve it, in which case an apology is needed. But usually the difficult is frustrated in general and we are the hardiest targets. Striking back is not the solution. ''But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.'' [ I Samuel 30:6 ].

Turning to God when were attacked by an angry person gives us: patience, understanding, discipline, spiritual discernment, and most of all - Courage. Some suggest taking a deep breath or count to ten, but the real answer is saying a quick prayer. David ask God what to do, was told to pursue the kidnappers, and he his men rescued their families.

Dealing with angry people test our witness. People are watching. We can lose our temper as well, or we can respond calmly and with love. David suc-ceeded because, he turned to the one stronger and wiser than himself. We can learn from his example.

Looking In The Mirror

The most difficult person each of us has to deal with is our self. If we are honest enough to admit it, we cause ourselves more trouble than others do. David was no different. He committed adultery with Bathsheba, and then had her husband Uriah killed. When confronted with his crimes by Nathan the prophet, David admitted: ''I have sinned against the Lord.'' [ II Samuel 12:13 ].

At times we need the help of pastor, or godly friend to help us see our situation clearly. In other cases, when we humbly ask God to show us the reason for our misery, he gently directs us to look in the mirror. Then we need to do what David did: confess our sin to God and repent Knowing He always forgives and take us back.

David had many faults, but he was the only person in the Bible God called, '' a man after my own heart.'' [ Acts 13:22 ]. Why? Because David depended completely on God to guide and direct his life, including dealing with difficult people.

Inclusion, we can't control difficult people and we can't change them, but with God's guidance & direction, we can understand them better and find a way to cope with them.

Adjusting My Life To God

Definition of Adjustment - to change [something], to fit, correspond, confirm, and accommodate, adapt to a particular condition, position, purpose.

Jesus said,'' any of one who does not give everything, he can't be my Disciple.'' [Luke 14:33]. Many of us want God to speak to us and give us an assignment. However, we are not interested in making any major adjustments in our lives. Every time God spoke to people in the Scriptures about something He wanted to do through them, major adjustments were necessary, they had to adjust their lives to God. Once the adjustments were made, God accomplished His purpose through those He called.

Adjusting your life to God is the second critical turning point in your knowing and doing the will of God. The first turning point is the [ crisis of belief ]. You must believe in God - is who He says He is, that He will do what He says He will do. Without faith in God, you will make the wrong decision at this first critical turning, making the adjustment of your life to God also is a turning point. If you choose to make the adjustment, you can go on to obedience & experience God as He accomplished His work through you [Matthew 17:20].

If you refuse to make the adjustments necessary to your life& lifestyle, you may miss what God has in store for your life. At the very least, you will slow His Blessing upon you and retard your own spiritual growth. At the very worst, you will live an unfruitful, unproductive, ineffective, and unfulfilling life. God's invitation for you to work with Him [God] always lead leads you to a crisis of belief that requires faith & action [James 2:17-26 | Hebrews 11:6]. Once you have come to believe God, you your faith is measured by what you '' do for God “.

Some action is required! This action is one of the major adjustments we are going to focus on. Your obedience also will be apart of the '' action required ''. Your adjustments and obedience will be costly to you and those around you. When God speak to you, revealing what He is about to do, that revelation is your invitation to adjust your life to Him and His Plan. Once you have adjusted your life to Him, His Purpose, and His Ways, you are in a “position to obey”. Adjustments prepares you for obedience, you can't continue life as usual or stay where you are, and go with God at the same time. That is true throughout Scripture.

Let's look at some Biblical examples of adjustment in a person's life that wanted to follow God. Note: Key verse - '' Any of you doesn't give-up everything he can't be My Disciple.'' [ Luke 14:33 ] Noah couldn't continue life as usual and build an ark at the same time. [ Genesis 6 ]. Abram could not say in Ur or Haran and father a nation in Canaan. [ Genesis 12:1-8 ]. Jonah had to leave his home and overcome an major prejudice in order to preach in Nineveh [ Jonah ]. Peter, Andrew, James, and John had to leave their fishing businesses in order to follow Jesus [Matthew 4:18-22]. Paul had to completely change directions in his life in order to be used of God to preach the gospel to the Gentiles. [ Acts 9:1-19 ].

You maybe thinking: '' But God will not ask me to make major adjustments.'' If you look to Scripture for your understanding of God, you will see that God most certainly will require adjustments of His people. God even required major adjustment of His Son. Turn to [ 2 Corinthians 8,9 ] - Read, Jesus emptied Himself of position and wealth in heaven in order to join the Father in providing redemption through His death on the cross - that was a huge and major adjustment. If you to be a disciple a follower of Jesus, you have no choice. You will have to make major adjustments in your life to follow God. When many people are faced with the reality of the adjustments that are demanded by God in discipleship, they run for a more comfortable environment, a less demanding gospel, or a friendlier believers climate. Following the Master, requires adjustments in your life. Until you are ready to make any adjustment necessary to follow and obey what God has said, you will be of little use to God. Your greatest single difficulty in following God may come at the point of the adjustment.

Let's look at two examples of opportunities for adjustments:

Elisha - [ I Kings 19:15-21 ]

Rich Young Ruler - [ Luke 18:18-27 ]

Question / Answer:

1. What adjustments were required for each?

2. What was the response of each?

Jesus asked [ Rich Young Ruler ] to put away the thing that had become his god - his wealth. He missed coming to know the True God and Jesus Christ whom God had sent. He wanted eternal life, but he refused to make the necessary adjustment of his life to the True God.

[ Elisha ] responded differently. He had to leave family & career (farming) in order to follow God's call. You have heard of '' Burning your bridges behind you'', well, Elisha burned his farm equipment and killed his 24 oxen. He cooked the meat and fed the people of the community. Elisha was not about to turn back! When he made the necessary adjustments, he was in a position to obey God. As a result, God worked through Elisha to perform some of the greatest signs and miracles recorded in the Old Testament [ II Kings 2:13 ]. Elisha had to make adjustments on the front end of his call. Not until he made the adjustments, was God able to work through him to accomplish the miracles.

Note: When God speak to me, revealing what he is about to do, that revelation is my invitation to adjust my life to God. Adjustments prepares me for obedience. The discipline of self-denial prepares the disciple for diligent duty. I can't stay where I am and go with God. My greatest single difficulty in following God may come at the point the adjustment or adjustments he want us to make.

Inclusion...... Adjustments maybe required in one or more of the following areas

In your circumstances ( job, home, finances etc..)

In your relationship ( family, friends, business associates etc..)

In your thinking ( prejudices, methods, your, your potentials etc..)

In your commitments ( to family, church, job, plans, traditions etc..)

In your action ( how to behave, as godly or ungodly, giving or not giving, serving or not

serving, etc..)

In your beliefs ( about God, His Purpose, His Way, your relationship to Him.)

Question? | What are some areas in which God may ask you to make adjustments of your life to Him?

A Clear Conscience

Act 24:10-16

When facing hard decision, do you pay attention to your conscience? And is it necessarily wise to trust this inner voice?

God gave everyone an internal sense of right and wrong. In fact, reflecting His truth inwardly is one way that He reveals Himself to mankind. The conscience is a divine alarm system that warns us of oncoming danger or consequences. Its primary purpose is protection and guidance.

The problem however, is that sin warps perception and can lead us astray. So it's important to understand the difference between following your heart and allowing a clear conscience to help with decisions. To make a determination, ask, what is the greatest influence on my morality? If the world's system of what is acceptable has infiltrated your heart, then your conscience can't be trusted. If, you have allowed God's Word to permeate and transform your thinking according to (Romans 12:2) - that inner voice is likely trustworthy.

The Holy Spirit, along with a divinely informed conscience, guides believers. In order to keep that internal guidance system healthy, we should continually meditate on Scripture. Then Ten Commandments are a solid basis for morality, and we are wise to internalize them - especially the two Jesus highlighted: to love God above all else and to love others (Matt 22:36-40).

What would you say has the greatest impact on your belief system?

Is it the truth of Scripture? Or do the world's standards of right and wrong infect your heart? Almighty God knows what is best for you, His child – and He provided a conscience to guide you toward wise decisions.
